Former New York Director Valerie Wilkins-Godbee dies fighting illness Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of former New York A Place For Us Director, Valerie Wilkins-Godbee in her passing on Sunday, December 14, 2008. She was 51 years old. Valerie very passionate about multiracial issues and was a bold soldier. She was always ready when she was called on to lead out. Her funeral will be Monday, Dec 22nd at E.O. Curry Funeral Home, 313 N James St., Peekskill, NY
