A Place For Us National

A Place For Us National's number one goal has been to be there for people when needed. We have done that since the beginning. Steve and Ruth and other representatives of A Place For Us National have appeared on national talk shows and news magazine shows such as Oprah, Donahue, Montel, Leeza Gibbons, Good Morning America, Extra, and E! Entertainment. Steve and Ruth were experts on the
O J Simpson case from an interracial couples perspective. Promise has dealt with the issue surrounding Strom Thurmond's adult biracial daughter from the perspective of a multiracial child.

Many have debated with us about presenting our case on talk shows, but those very talk shows reached into the homes of families who felt like they were the only ones on the earth going through the storms of prejudice. Lives have been changed due to Steve and Ruth stepping out in 1980 and going against the flow. By making themselves available to millions whose lives suffered because of the same trials; they will always be remembered.

This after ReVonda Bowen, a biracial teenager from Widowee, Alabama who was told by her principal that she was a "mistake". A Place circulated a petition across the nation to have that Principal fired.
